Abstract
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in education has gained relevance in recent years, offering tools for personalized learning and improved academic performance. This study analyzes the impact of GAI (ChatGPT) on Mexican students, evaluating their perceptions of ChatGPT's positive effects, its reliance on the technology in the classroom, and their experiences with professors implementing GAI. The results show that university students perceive the use of ChatGPT in their academic training positively. However, 93.3% expressed concern about the impact of excessive dependence on this technology, and 87.5% of participants indicated that their professors have incorporated ChatGPT into classes or academic work. These findings highlight the need to implement teacher training programs in GAI and digital literacy workshops that ensure the ethical use of AI in pedagogical practices.
