Abstract
Multidisciplinary research emerges as a fundamental pillar for addressing the complexity of contemporary challenges facing Mexico. This essay examines the importance of promoting this approach in both public and private universities, exploring structural, cultural, and financial challenges, as well as the vast opportunities it offers for innovation, social development, and the training of highly skilled human capital. Statistical data on the research landscape in Mexico are presented, along with reflections on strategies to strengthen a culture of scientific collaboration and, consequently, increase academic publications, particularly in online journals. In the context of the tenth anniversary of Pensamiento Crítico. Revista de Investigación Multidisciplinaria, the essay highlights the crucial role of academic publications that foster the convergence of knowledge.
